Blue Hour Bass MIDI – Soul & Blue Note Basslines

Blue Hour Bass is a MIDI bass pack built around 1970s soul and Blue Note–inspired grooves.

These basslines are written to feel played, not programmed. The focus is musical movement and pocket, with lines that walk, respond, and breathe while staying supportive of the harmony.

All 115 basslines are 8 bars long and spread across both minor and major keys. Notes move more freely than a boom bap pack, using stepwise motion and phrasing that feels natural under chords, Rhodes, horns, and live drums. Timing sits slightly behind the grid, and velocities vary to keep things human.

Tempos range from 68 to 92 BPM, covering slow soul, classic Blue Note pockets, and jazz-leaning grooves. They work well with electric bass plugins, upright bass, or warm synth basses.
